This Privacy Notice explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal and health information when you use our lactation support and sleep coaching services in Colorado.
1. Our Services
We provide lactation counseling, breastfeeding support, infant and child sleep coaching, and related educational services. Services are provided by Felicity Leach, PharmD, Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC), and Certified Pediatric Sleep Consultant. These services are educational and do not diagnose or treat medical conditions.
2. Information We Collect
We collect the following categories of information to provide our services:
Contact Information. Your name, address, email, phone number, and emergency contacts.
Child Information. Your child's name, date of birth, birth history, feeding history, sleep patterns, growth milestones, medical conditions, allergies, and medications relevant to lactation or sleep.
Parent Health Information. Maternal health history relevant to lactation (pregnancy, childbirth, medications, breast health, prior breastfeeding experience) and mental health information related to postpartum adjustment or sleep deprivation.
Payment Information. Credit or debit card information (processed by Stripe and Squarespace Payments), billing address, and transaction history.
v. Communications. Consultation notes, care plans, emails, text messages, phone records, intake forms, questionnaires, and photos or videos you provide.
Website Data. IP address, browser type, device identifiers, cookies, analytics data, and geolocation information (if enabled).
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
Provide Services. Conduct assessments, develop feeding and sleep plans, communicate recommendations, and maintain care records.
Process Payments. Bill for services, manage appointments, and send reminders.
Comply with Legal Obligations. Report suspected child abuse or neglect as required by Colorado law, respond to court orders or legal process, and protect against fraud or safety threats.
Send Updates (with Your Consent). Provide newsletters, educational materials, and service updates. You may opt out at any time by contacting us.
v. Improve Our Services. Analyze de-identified or aggregated data to improve program quality and effectiveness.
4. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal or health information. We may share information in the following circumstances:
Service Providers. We share information with MilkNotes (for video consultations, appointment management, and communications) and Stripe and Squarespace Payments (for payment processing). These providers are contractually required to protect your information.
Healthcare Providers (with Your Authorization). With your written consent, we may share information with your child's pediatrician, lactation consultants, or other care providers.
Legal and Safety Disclosures. We may disclose information without your consent when required or permitted by law, including to report suspected child abuse or neglect, respond to court orders, or protect against imminent threats to health or safety.
Business Transfers. If we merge with or are acquired by another entity, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
v. With Your Consent. We may share information for other purposes with your express written consent.
5. Data Security
We use encryption, secure passwords, multi-factor authentication, restricted access controls, and regular security assessments to protect your information. However, no transmission or storage method is completely secure.
6. How Long We Keep Your Information
We retain client records for at least seven (7) years after the last service date. Records for minor clients are retained until the child reaches age 25 or for seven (7) years after the last encounter, whichever is longer, in accordance with Colorado professional standards. De-identified data may be retained indefinitely for research and quality improvement.
7. Your Colorado Privacy Rights
Under the Colorado Privacy Act (CPA), you may have the following rights if the CPA applies to our processing of your personal data:
Right to Know and Access. Confirm whether we are processing your personal data and request access to it.
Right to Correct. Request correction of inaccuracies in your personal data.
Right to Delete. Request deletion of personal data you provided, subject to certain exceptions.
Right to Data Portability. Request your personal data in a portable, readily usable format.
v. Right to Opt Out. Opt out of the sale of personal data (we do not sell personal data), targeted advertising (we do not engage in targeted advertising), or profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects (we do not engage in such profiling).
Right to Non-Discrimination. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.

We will respond within 45 days. If we need additional time (up to 45 more days), we will notify you. If we decline your request, you may appeal by contacting us at the same email or phone number. We will respond to appeals within 45 days.
To verify your identity, we may request your full name, date of birth, contact information, and proof of identity (e.g., driver's license). Verification data will be used only for that purpose and will not be retained longer than necessary.
8. Children's Privacy
Our services are directed to parents and guardians. We collect information about children under age 13 only with parental or guardian consent to provide lactation and sleep coaching services. Parents and guardians may review, correct, delete, or refuse further collection of their child's information by contacting us.

Our website uses cookies to remember preferences, analyze traffic, and improve functionality. Types of cookies include:

11. Telehealth and Video Consultations
Telehealth sessions via MilkNotes are transmitted and stored using encryption and comply with applicable privacy and security standards. Video sessions are not recorded unless you provide advance written consent. If recorded, sessions are stored securely and retained in accordance with our retention policy.
12. Text and Email Communications
We may communicate with you via text or email for appointment reminders, care instructions, and service updates. Standard messaging rates may apply. Email and text messaging are not secure. Do not send highly sensitive health information via unencrypted email or text unless you accept this risk. You may opt out of text messages by contacting us.
13. Privacy and Security Practices
Although we are not a HIPAA-covered entity, we maintain privacy and security practices consistent with HIPAA standards. Your information is used only to provide services, communicate with you, maintain records, and comply with applicable laws.
